MNF Week 3: Predictions and Bets

09/25/2022

Sports Opinion by Ethan Irish and Josh Blatt

    This week's MNF game stinks horribly, even thought the Giants are 2-0 they have not showed much after beating a horrendous Tennessee Titans team and the not much better Carolina Panthers last week.

    The Cowboys have not looked much better at 1-1. In week 1 they only scored three points and starting quarterback, Dak Prescott got hurt so we will be seeing Cooper Rush led the Dallas offense for the second consecutive week.

Ethan's Take:

    After a 4-1 Sunday I can finally rest easy knowing I am not the worst sports bettor in world, so let's continue that. While this game will probably not be the greatest offensive matchup of the season, it can't be worse than that Sunday Night Football showing from Denver and San Francisco, right? ... Right? Honestly, I don't think it can be. Anyways, both of these offenses are not good and both defenses are average through two weeks this season. The Cowboys will also get wide receiver Michael Gallup for the first time this season and even though I do not think he will be on the field too much, that's a plus. That said, I think that the Giants may have the upper hand with last week's film on Cooper Rush and playing at home. They also are the first team Dallas will have faced with a run first offense, averaging 170.5 rushing yards through two weeks.

    Both teams will try to run the ball a lot so Saquon, Zeke, and Tony Pollard could all have a big day if things go the way they can for at least one of them. Barkley would be my bet between those three. Currently the total of this game is at 39.0 on Fanduel so I am not expecting some random shoot out between Daniel Jones and Cooper Rush. Once one team takes the lead, it could be the game plan to just run the clock out. Maybe this game will be worse than the SNF game after all.

Ethan's Bet(s):

Giants ML (-115) (Caesars Sportsbook)                                                                            Daniel Jones Pass Yards U200.5 (-113) (Fanduel)                                                            Saquon Barkley Rush Yards O76.5 (-115) (Draftkings)                                                      [Risky] Daniel Jones First TD Scorer (+1200) (Fanduel)

Add: Richie James Receptions O2.5 (-145) (BetMGM)

Josh's Take:

    For this week's Monday Night Football matchup we have an NFC East (why is Dallas even in the East?) divisional matchup between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Personally, I don't feel like this will be a great game, just like tonight's 11-10 "shootout" between Denver and San Francisco. Quarterback play will be in the spotlight, but for none of the right reasons. We get the pleasure of watching Daniel "Dimes" Jones and Cooper Rush lining up behind center, with two of 2018's most elite running backs in Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot. If you can't tell, I may be jaded-- it was a LONG Sunday that left an extremely bitter taste in my mouth. Fanduel made some money today, my team blew the game, and I stayed up late to watch a goddamn 11-10 football game.

    Since I do need to choose who will win this dumpster fire of a game, I believe the New York Giants will take care of business at home. I also think that Saquon Barkley will put up some numbers against a decent Dallas defense. You have to think Saquon will continue to score the ball, and the Giants will continue to move the ball on the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel Jones can run one in. The story of this game will be centered around 3 players-- Saquon, Zeke, and Tony Pollard, whichever team's running back room can play the best, will win the game. Giants 24-17.

Josh's Bet: [PARLAY] New York Giants -1 (-110), Saquon Barkley o77.5 Rushing Yards (-113), Saquon Barkley To Score 2+ Touchdowns (+600) into [+903] (Fanduel)
